5 cadets from 1119 spent most of half term at Longmoor camp where it was nothing but music for a whole week. Cdt Brierley, Cdt Rhodes Jones, Cpl Howell, Cpl Minshall and Cdt Pearson attended the camp and got put into either the band or the corps of drums.
The corps of drums broke in to star levels beginner, 2 star, 3 star, 4 star and drum majors. The 2 star corps of drums was about 100 strong with over half of those being side drums so the noise was defening when we played soldier boy!
The band was divided into the north band and the south band depending where you lived and thay put on a concert on for us on the wednesday night. Another thing we did was meet some of the ACF and seeing the rifles doing there light infantry drill whitch was fun to watch.
All in all it was a great camp and I will be going next year and do my 3 star and i hope other band members will come to.
