General

This website has been coded by Flying Officer Dean Rowley of 1119 Squadron. Originally coded in static HTML, then into ASP. This latest version has been updated to comply with the latest web standards.

If you detected a problem on one of the pages, such as a broken link or some incorrect information, please email us with the page URL and how to reproduce the fault.

Development

This site has been coded in XHTML 1.0 and CSS, webpage standards as defined by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). The interaction is provided by ASP (Active Server Pages) scripts, together with a database backend.

You may be interested to note that no tables were used in the layout, just CSS. The advantages of this approach are that the website can be viewed on any web enabled device, including mobile phones, and your toaster when it goes online (it will happen eventually, dont laugh.)

The coding itself was done entirly by hand, using GVIM (www.vim.org), an open source (free software) UNIX text editor ported to Microsoft Windows.

The website graphics were created by The Gimp (www.gimp.org), a fully featured open source image editing package.
