Winter is not a great outdoors time and the focus has been on the academic programme, However in order to get the most out of the Adventure training season we have to start planning now. Those of you planning your Duke of Edinburgh award expeditions must start getting the requests to me next month.
The Squadron has another "first" in that Richard Weston becomes the squadrons first adult sergeant. I would like to add my congratulations to Richard and hopefully he can return to Uniform in the New year.
The Layout of the Brassard takes a new format in the new year with the inclusion of the first aid Badge for those of you who gain the young lifesaver plus award. Hence there will be an opportunity to undergo first aid training in the new year. This training will become a compulsory part of the first class training programme at some point during 2006.
The Millennium Volunteers award also moves from the shoulder flash to the brassard and as such there are changes to the marksmanship awards.
Instructor cadets (those of you over the age of 18), will soon be in receipt of the new NCO rank slides which identify yourselves as such.
The last parade of the year is December 19th, hopefully you will take the opportunity to enjoy the party and have a great Christmas break. I look forward to everyone coming back on 4th January next year.
