Cdt S Kynaston attends band camp. 23 cadets are filmed by BBC tv to promote the Air Training Corps through ‘Midlands Today Newsmakers’organised by Cpl T Hayman.
Sgt J Forbes attends Community sports leaders award course at RAF Cosford.
20 cadets and 3 staff attend Wargraves.
4 staff and 10 cadets attend Swynnerton training camp.35 cadets and 8 staff attend Wing training weekend held at Sennybridge. Squadron were presented with best overall squadron and selected for ‘Lees’ competition, Wing efficiency trophy and best squadron in Shropshire.

18 cadets and 3 staff marshal the Shrewsbury Carnival for which the squadron receive £300 from Shrewsbury Carnival committee.
18 cadets assisted at the Ellesmere triathlon.
12 cadets and 4 staff attend 2 summer camps at RAF Waddington 1st –8th July and 23-30 August. 6 cadets and 2 staff attended AC2K summer camp at RAF Cranwell.

10 cadets visit RIAT at RAF Cottesmore.
Cpl Hayman awarded millennium Falcon flight between Hawarden & Cosford.
The Squadron participated in a Dragon Boat racing event.

Cpl D Lucas visits Cyprus as an Exchange with Akritiri cadet.
Runners up in A/C recognition competition 3 cadets represent wing at Regional Aircraft Recognition. Cpl N Pitchers attends Marine Society training ship course.
15 cadets attended NITEX at RAF Cosford.
Cadets and staff attended the funeral of Civilian committee Chairman Mike Drury.
In Shooting, 2 teams of 4 take part in Battle of Britain stage 2 shoot. 4 Cadets take part in the ‘Country life’ shooting competition. Squadron team were runners up in the inter wing target rifles shooting competition held at squadron HQ. Winners of both Ffennell Shield and best individual shot. Cdt D Lucas selected for the winning ATC shooting in the Whistler Trophy competition earning himself a corps blue and a gold medal. 5 cadets attend ICRSM at Bisley Cdt D Lucas attains a 2nd in the individual 300yrd shoot and earns a cadet 100. Cdt Puttock is runner up in the Butts team competition. 4 cadets compete in L98 shooting competition coming 2nd.
The squadron had a total of 42 wing blues for sport 4 cadets for senior boys football, 4 cadetsat senior girls hockey. 4 cadets at the senior boys 5 a side. 5 cadets selected for wing junior Rugby team. 3 cadets selected for junior 5 a side team team. 4 cadets at junior netball team. 3 cadets at junior hockey. 4 cadets at junior netball. 4 cadets at junior rugby 2 cadets for athletics. 4 cadets in senior Netball. Cpl Hayman wins 3 golds and cdt Griffiths wins 2 silver and Bronze at the inter-wing swimming. The following cadets were subsequently selected to represent the region. R Hamilton & I Sloan at senior rugby. Sgt J Forbes at cross-country taking 16th place. Cdt T Basford at senior football. Cpl Hayman in Swimming competition, attaining three silvers. Cdt Hawley & Cdt Wong at junior hockey. Cpl T Hayman and cdt S Hawley at senior hockey. Cdt T Basford and cdt R Brown at junior football. Cdt C Wong at junior netball. FS I Sloan and cdt G Cottey at athletics. Cpl Hayman represents the ATC at inter-service swimming championships at HMS Temeraire and Wins 2 Gold and 1 Silver medal. Sgt Hayman represented the ATC in athletics.
Sqn Winners of senior 5 a side. Winners of the Senior & Junior netball competitions. Squadron were 2nd in the junior 5 a side competition. Joint 1st in the intermediate Boys athletics event. The Squadron won the senior girls class at swimming and came 2nd overall in the girls event and equal 2nd in the competition.
Squadron presented with Regional Sports squadron of the Year. Cpl Hayman retains female sports cadet of the Year

Cpl P Puttock represents the ATC at Rugby against Shropshire and Staffordshire colts.
Cadet’s Howes and Collins represent Wales and West Region at junior football.
Squadron wins senior 5 a side competition.
1 cadet represents Wales and West at senior football.
Sgt M Hamilton and Cdt T Basford represent Wales and West Region at senior soccer.
Cdt R Greenhalgh and Cdt E Williams represent Wales and West Region in junior hockey
Squadron enters Wing Swimming becoming Joint winners of Boys Overall trophy.
12 cadets represent West Mercian Wing at Regional Swimming.
Squadron run weekly swim nights at Shrewsbury school swimming pool for proficiency and training certificates 51 cadets were awarded proficiency certificates and 30 were awarded their training certificates
Shooting
At Bisley the Squadron took another team of 5 with both Sgt S Hawley and Cadet N Horton earning Cadet 100’s.
36 cadets attended L98 shooting during the year at RAF Cosford.
New Wing Admin Officer, Squadron Leader J Gilchrist visits squadron.
Host to Regional Competition Rifle shoot. 4 cadets represent West Mercian wing in competition and are runners up to 1344(Cardiff) sqn.
Camps
Wing Training Day held at RAF Cosford, the squadron entered teams in Drill, Banner Drill, Smartest Squadron and first Aid. Cdt Howes is 2nd in the Aircraft modelling competition,
Winners of the Best Squadron In Shropshire, Ffennell Shield, P Jones Shield, Top Sporting Squadron and Stuart Palmer Plate.
Summer Camp at RAF Henlow was split across 2 weeks with 8 cadets and 1 staff attending 27th June to 4th August and the remaining 4 cadets attending the week after. The following week (10th –18th Aug) 14 Cadets and 3 staff Attended Adventure Training Camp at Llanbedr.
8 cadets take part in Bronze and Silver D of E Expeditions during the summer.

Cpl D Lucas & Sgt T Hayman complete Flying scholarships.
Sgt T Hayman presented with Regional sports woman trophy. Squadron awarded with Regional Sports Squadron trophy.
On the13th October as part of the Squadrons 60th Anniversary celebrations the Band of the RAF Regiment held a concert at the squadron’s original home (now the Wakeman School)
The squadron ran a Probationer training weekend in May.
Annual inspection moved to June this year the squadron continues to achieve a top score of 7.
Sgt T Hayman attends an ATC anniversary dinner held at the Houses of Parliament.
Sgts Shaw and Hayman & Cpl Lucas are awarded 6th form Scholarships.
Mrs A.Littleford and 10 cadets visit the Lindstrand balloon Co. in Oswestry.

Cadets assist marshalling of Tough guy Summer and Winter competitions. ATC Sunday service at St George’s Church Frankwell 20 cadets and 5 staff attend. The squadron entered a team at Bisley. 1 cadet represents Wales and West at senior football. W.O John Feast is commissioned. March 1st the Annual Dinner held at the Albright Hussey hotel, with Wing Commander Lloyd the guest of honour. Cpl R Greenhalgh attends a CSLA Course at RAF Cosford. Squadron enters Wing Swimming becoming winners of Boys Overall trophy. 18 cadets and 2 staff attend Battle of Britain parade. 64 cadets and 4 staff paraded through the town for Remembrance Day. Cpl Lewin, Cpl Howes and Cadet Hewings Win the Corps Aircraft recognition title. Cpl Howes wins the individual title. The team wins the Air Britain cadet competition and the individual title. Plt Officer Feast takes over at 24 (Market Drayton) squadron. Neil Horton is promoted to CWO. Christmas party held at Christchurch Hall Bayston Hill.

Wing Training Day (20/05/2003)
Wing Training Day held at RAF Cosford, the squadron entered teams in Drill, Smartest Squadron and Aircraft modelling Competitions.
Overall 2004
Plt Off Littleford Transfers to 24 (Market Drayton) squadron. Winners of Ffennell Shield and Peter Jones Trophy. Wing training weekend held at Nesscliffe training camp June 18 – 20th attended by AOC, Air Commodore Chitty. FS Kynaston Sgt A Paradise and Cdt Barnes receive England schools representative certificates. 40 cadets from the squadron along with all the Staff line the Aisle for the Wedding of Francios and Karen Kamudu. The squadron entered teams in Drill, Banner Drill, Smartest Squadron, First aid and Aircraft modelling Competitions. Cdt Dominic Fraser- Shaw wins the Dovey Trophy for Wing smartest cadet. Winners of the boys orienteering competition Winners of the Girls overall swimming competition. Stuart Kynaston is promoted to CWO. 10 cadets and 2 staff attended RAF Halton for summer camp 8th – 16th August. 5 cadets and 3 staff attend two week camp at Akritiri in Cyprus during October half term. Mr Rowley is commissioned. 6 cadets and 3 staff attended. Marshalled both summer and winter ‘tough Guy’ events. Annual Dinner held at the Allbright Hussey the guest of honour being the Mayor of Shrewsbury, Eileen Sandford. FS R Littleford completes his CSLA course.

RAF High Wycome Summer Camp (4/07/2005)
Cadets attended Wing Training Weekend, held at Nescliffe Training Area, Shropshire. We won the Orienteering.
3 Cadets + 1 Officer attended RAF High Wycombe for Summer Camp.

RAF Shawbury Familes Day (29/07/2005)
19 Cadets attended RAF Shawbury for the annual families day. Duties included manning the flight line, to ensure no-one strayed onto the runway, and a FOD clot afterwards. We were looked after by 60 Squadron. At the end we got the chance to get up close to the Red Arrows!
August 2005
9 Cadets and Pilot Officer Dean Rowley attended Llanbedr Aventure Training Camp in Wales. The camp com was Pilot Officer Honour Cox of Herts and Bucks Wing.
Activities included mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, pony treking and mountain walking.
October 2005
AWO Francois Kamudu is awarded the Commandants Commendation for meritorious sevice to the ATC.

16 Cadets took part in Selling Poppies in Shrewsbury with a further 2 selling poppies in Wem and 2 selling Poppies in Church Stretton. On Armistace day 62 Cadets and 4 staff Paraded to St Chads Church with a further 5 attending a Parade in Church Stretton.

14 cadets took part in the Wing Athletics at RAF Cosford. Cpl Thomas went through to the regional competition 2 weeks later.
15 cadets marshalled the Military vehicle ralley at Nesscliffe Army training Camp.

15 cadets attend Wing Training Weekend held during 2-4th June.
9 Cadets and 3 Staff attended RAF Cosford Air Day, running an Air Rec stand in Hanger 4.
3 Cadets attended 632 VGS at Ternhill for their first flights.
19 cadets from the Squadron attended Shrewsbury Carnival. This was the first public appearance for the reformed band. Squadron team took first place in the challnge cup for Archery.
15 Cadets and 2 staff helped marshall Loton Park Classic Car Hill Climb.
July 2006
18 cadets visited RAF Fairford for the Royal International Air Tatoo.
3 staff and 6 cadets assisted at Tough Guy,
August 2006
10 Cadets and 1 Staff attend RAF Marham for Summer camp, other station visits included RAF Lakenheath, RAF Feltwell and RAF Wyton. 6 United States JROTC cadets also attended this camp.
September 2006
18 cadets and 3 staff supported 1165 squadron at Operation Homefront in Oswestry during the weekend of 9th and 10th September.
16 Cadets and 8 staff attended Battle Of Britain Sunday at St Chads Church.
Squadron represented West Mercian Wing in Aircraft Recognition and Full bore Shooting. Both teams came 2nd in their respective events with Cpl Rathbone winning best overall shot
